Senators to oppose P55-B pork in budget

Senators on Tuesday vowed to fight for the removal of billions in pork from the P3.757-trillion proposed national budget for 2019 once they get their hands on the House of Representatives version of the spending bill. Sen. Panfilo Lacson, who has long been saying that the 2019 budget is riddled with funds for pet projects of lawmakers, said the squabble among House members over P55 billion in pork would make it easier for the Senate to identify and delete the funds.
