China aids Pampanga in bird flu fight

China on Tuesday gave P7.7 million to the Pampanga provincial government to help prevent future avian influenza infestations in the province. The first known bird flu outbreak took place in San Luis town in August, before two more towns in Nueva Ecija province were also quarantined for avian flu infections. Chinese Ambassador Zhao Jianhua said his government was monitoring the recent detection of bird flu in Cabiao town, also in Nueva Ecija, to see how his country could help. Pampanga Gov. Lilia Pineda
