Woman knocked down by shopping cart awarded $45M

A woman from New York involved in a shopping cart accident has been awarded $45 million by a jury, reports the New York Times. Back in October 2011, Marion Hedges and her 13-year-old son Dayton were shopping for Halloween candy for children in need. While they were at the parking lot, a shopping cart struck Hedges head from a height of four stories or 70 feet and she collapsed on the spot.
