BFAR to implement fishing ban in Visayan Sea starting Nov. 15

(Eagle News) — The Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) announced through its Fisheries Administrative Order 167-3 that starting November 15, a fishing ban will be implemented in the Visayan Sea. The fishing ban will last until February 15, 2019 but may be extended until March depending on the changing spawning pattern of fish. According to BFAR Undersecretary Aduardo Gongona, the move aims to help the fish production of sardines, tawilis, tamban and mackerels. [ ]
